County Data Sets

The mobility metrics are contained in several distinct data sets. The data sets are organized according to the principles of tidy data and each data set has a unique unit of observation.

00_mobility-metrics_longitudinal.csv

  • Unit of Observation: One row per county per year.
  • Dimensions: 28,281 rows and 94 columns
  • Years: 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022

This data set contains all of the county-level mobility metrics for all available years. In some cases it will contain more years of data than are available in the mobility metrics data pages.

00_mobility-metrics_recent.csv

  • Unit of Observation: One row per county.
  • Dimensions: 3,143 rows and 93 columns

This data set contains all of the county-level mobility metrics for the most recent year available for each metric. For example, if one metric is available in 2018 and another metric is available in 2021, both metrics will show up in the same row in this data set.

  • Unit of Observation: One row per county per race-ethnicity group per year.
  • Dimensions: 157,150 rows and 29 columns
  • Years: 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022

This data set contains mobility metrics disaggregated by race/ethnicity group when available.

  • Unit of Observation: One row per county per race group per year.
  • Dimensions: 47,145 rows and 12 columns
  • Years: 2018, 2021, 2022

This data set contains mobility metrics disaggregated by race group when available.

02_poverty-exposure_race-ethnicity.csv

  • Unit of Observation: One row per county per race group per year.
  • Dimensions: 31,425 rows and 9 columns
  • Years: 2018, 2021

This data set contains special race and ethnicity tabulations for the economic inclusion mobility metric.

03_mobility-metrics_race-share_longitudinal.csv

  • Unit of Observation: One row per county per majority race group in a subgeography per year.
  • Dimensions: 37,704 rows and 17 columns
  • Years: 2014, 2016, 2018

This data set contains mobility metrics disaggregated by the majority race of the subgeographies in the county.

04_SEDA-income_longitudinal.csv

  • Unit of Observation: One row per county per majority race group in a subgeography per year.
  • Dimensions: 47,130 rows and 11 columns
  • Years: 2017, 2016, 2015, 2014, 2013

This data set contains mobility metrics disaggregated using special disaggregations for SEDA data.
