DRIVE Narrative:
DRIVE is a collective impact initiative that seeks to fundamentally transform the Greater Fresno Region by 2030 and create opportunities for all residents to achieve real economic mobility by fostering an economy that is inclusive, vibrant and sustainable. What sets DRIVE apart from previous community efforts is its heavy reliance on data-driven strategies. We strive to provide our DRIVE partners and stakeholders with high quality data that is relevant, timely, and actionable. Prioritizing high quality data supports informed decision-making and maximizes our impact.
Fresno’s Mobility Metrics make up one powerful arm of DRIVE’s Measurement & Evaluation system to inform and drive economic growth and community well-being in Fresno. These 28 metrics provide insights into socioeconomic mobility trends and opportunities within Fresno and among other geographic regions. They are designed to empower individuals, communities, and policymakers with the data needed to understand and address issues related to upward mobility. For example, these data can help us identify disparities, inform program design, and better align resources with community needs. These metrics can also show how Fresno has improved over time and in comparisons with other communities. The other two arms of our Measurement & Evaluation system focus on how our DRIVE initiatives are performing and can be found in our DRIVE data tab. These arms of data include traditional program evaluation, and assessment of DRIVE’s “conditions of change,” including community engagement, and racial equity as well as the qualitative data that tells in-depth stories about how DRIVE impacts the community.
